A student of Koforidua Senior High Technical School has been stabbed following a chaos at the Eastern Regional Inter-Schools Sports Festival, and it has really stirred up a lot of worry about revenge and general safety.
The affected person, Jerome Appiah was just eating waakye on his way to school when some Form Two students from New Juaben Senior High allegedly assaulted him. It was reported that he lost a lot of blood and had a bad machete cut on his shoulder.
The injured student was quickly rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital by the police from the Eastern Regional Command where he is receiving treatment and is in good condition right now.
Emmanuel Frimpong Benjabeng, the Headmaster of Koforidua SECTECH, rushed over to the Koforidua Youth Resource Centre, the venue for the inter-schools sports festival with some of his teachers after the incident, and wanted to make sure angry students didn’t try to get revenge.
News of another chaos broke when Mr. Benjabeng was in a meeting with Mr. Mustapha Haruna Appiah, who’s the Municipal Education Director for New Juaben South. The meeting ended right away when it became known that Henry Kudiabor, a SECTECH teacher, was also injured.
Reports indicated that, the teacher got hit in the head with a stone during a fight involving students from Nsutam Senior High Technical School, where some of them were accused of throwing stones.
The Municipal Education Director for New Juaben South, Mustapha Haruna Appiah, has shown worry over the violence happening and has urged the police and the organizers of the event to investigate into the matter and enhance security to prevent these attacks from further happening.
