The decision of Hohoe United Football Club to withdraw from the Ghana Premier League with immediate effect has been made public.
“The Board of Hohoe United Football Club, after an emergency meeting held today, has arrived at the difficult decision to withdraw the club from the ongoing 2025/26 Ghana Premier League,” the club stated in a statement released on its Facebook page.
“The Ghana Football Association will be formally informed of this decision.”
The club will then be subject to the governing body’s applicable rules after it gives the GFA written notice of its withdrawal.
According to Article 13(5) of the Regulations, “where a club withdraws from the league after it has started, any match which that club is scheduled to play shall be considered forfeited and accordingly, three (3) points and three (3) goals shall be awarded in favour of the opposing club”.
Three (3) points and three (3) goals were given in favor of the Nsoatreman’s opponents on every scheduled matchday of Nsoatreman FC until the season’s conclusion in their case.
After 27 games, Hohoe United, formerly Liberty Professionals, are currently in second place from the bottom of the 18-team league with 30 points.
The club was elevated to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after finishing first in the Division One League Zone Three with 72 points last season.
