A fuel tanker is reported to have crushed at Ahodwo in the Ashanti Region, compelling personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service to take prompt measures to the scene. A Facebook post by GNFS said, it was involved in the crash with several used vehicles being displayed for sale at a street-side garage at a location just beyond +2 Pub and was fully loaded with some 54,000 litres of petrol.
Following the crash which rendered some used vehicles heavily damaged, immediately issues arose about safety as traders and residents in the area raised the alert. Promptly the GNFS despatched a rescue truck to aid in dragging the tanker out of danger, and helped in managing the situation.

Firefighters, on their part, are continuing to pour water on the tanker to control its temperature in view of the highly flammable nature of its cargo.
The truck has been secured, and has had its situation stabilized, having finally being removed from the site of the crash after efforts by personnel and staff.
Traffic has had little problems around the scene with area cordoned off to allow safe continued clearing by city personnel in the region, to ensure constant activity to clear up any spillage or hazards, the accident raised questions on fuel transport passing through heavy traffic areas such as the city centers of any place even though, no fatalities have as yet been confirmed at the time of this report.
