The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it has found 120 employment openings for Ghanaians who were evacuated from South Africa due to the ongoing xenophobic conflict there.
The Ministry stated that Ghanaian business owners offered the opportunities as part of efforts to aid returning citizens’ reintegration.
The Ministry urged additional Ghanaian Chief Executive Officers and entrepreneurs to participate in the initiative by giving the evacuees jobs in a public plea released on Monday, June 1.
The announcement stated that “We encourage Ghanaian CEOs and businesspeople interested in hiring Ghanaians returning from South Africa to get in touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Delivery Unit.”
The Ministry announced that the Delivery Unit, under the leadership of Ambassador Alexander Grant Ntrakwa, is managing the effort and may be contacted by potential employers using a dedicated contact line.
“We have so far obtained 120 work vacancies from Ghanaian company owners who are dedicated to their country. “Join this noble initiative,” the Ministry continued.
Part of the government’s attempts to aid Ghanaians impacted by the recent wave of anti-foreigner sentiment and strikes in South Africa, which caused citizens who want to return home to be evacuated, is the program. From South Africa, 300 individuals have been evacuated thus far.
The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to the well-being of Ghanaians living overseas, emphasizing that every measure is being taken to guarantee all evacuees’ security, respect, and effective reintegration.
The statement stated that “all of our citizens are cherished and valued.”
