The Barekese Water Treatment Plant is back up and running, supplying water to Kumasi and nearby areas after finishing repairs on the transmission pipeline, as reported by Ghana Water Limited (GWL).
In a statement released on Wednesday, June 10, GWL shared that the repairs wrapped up around 4:00 a.m., which was earlier than expected.
The company recognized its technical and operational teams for their hard work and commitment to restoring services quickly. With water production restarted, GWL hopes that the overall supply will start to improve across the country.
This restoration will benefit not only Kumasi but also the surrounding towns that were impacted during the repair period. The management thanked customers, stakeholders, and the public for their understanding and support throughout the process. GWL promised to continue providing safe and reliable water services, focusing on improvements in the Ashanti Region.
