Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, Member of Parliament for the Kumawu Constituency, has successfully completed Phase One and Phase Two of the Street Light Project, aimed at improving visibility, safety and the general quality of life of residents across the constituency.
The initiative forms part of his commitment to supporting practical community development projects that directly respond to the needs of constituents.
Under the project, new streetlights have been installed and faulty streetlights repaired in a number of communities and electoral areas, including Bomeng, Dadease, Akotosu, Kumawu Etia, Kumawu Ahenboboano, Abotanso, Woraso, Aninangya, Nkwanta, Temate and Besoro.
The intervention is expected to enhance visibility at night, improve security and create a safer environment for pedestrians, motorists, traders and other residents who move within these communities after dark.
250 Household Bulbs Distributed in Each Electoral Area
Beyond street lighting, the project has also extended to individual households. As part of the initiative, 250 household bulbs have been distributed to homes in each of the beneficiary electoral areas.
The distribution is intended to complement the streetlight installation by ensuring that residents also have improved lighting around their homes, contributing to safer and more comfortable living conditions.
Commitment to Community Development
Speaking on the project, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim emphasized the importance of investing in infrastructure that has a direct and positive impact on the daily lives of constituents.
According to him, access to adequate lighting is an important component of community development, particularly in improving safety and supporting economic and social activities during the evening.
The completion of the first two phases represents another step toward the broader goal of creating brighter, safer and more vibrant communities across the Kumawu Constituency.
