James Agalga, the Member of Parliament for Builsa North, has been appointed as the new Majority Leader in Parliament after Mahama Ayariga was nominated to serve as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs.
Mr. Ayariga was nominated for the Cabinet position by President John Dramani Mahama, which led to the change and necessitated his resignation as Majority Leader.
Mr Agalga, who previously served as the Interior Deputy Minister, is about to take over as the Majority Leader in Parliament.
From the Ministry of Works and Housing, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei has been moved to the Ministry of Defense by President Mahama.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the modifications were presented to Parliament through the Speaker in accordance with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
Ahmed Ibrahim, a member of parliament, has been moved from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs to the Ministry of Works, Housing, and Water Resources as a result of the reshuffle.
Additionally, the President has appointed Hon. Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings as the Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister-designate.
Parliament must approve the candidates.
