A senior nursing officer from Techiman, Salomey Awity Baffoe, who is charged with abetment of crime in connection with material ascribed to the “Ghana Jollof” social media account, has had her bail application denied by the Accra High Court.
The court rejected the application, stating that investigations were still ongoing and that if Ms. Baffoe were to be given bail, the evidence might be destroyed.
Her attorney, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, revealed the information after a virtual court hearing. Investigators describe high-profile individuals’ financial transactions and activities related to the “Ghana Jollof” account, both of which are being examined by the police.
Barbara Asantewaa Koduah, who is thought to be the account’s creator, is also the target of a police manhunt. After the most recent ruling, Ms. Baffoe will continue to be held in custody while inquiries are ongoing.
