As part of their strategy to provide a secure and safe experience for everyone who celebrates Easter in Ghana, the Ghana Police Service (GPS) has implemented a nation-wide comprehensive security plan.
As outlined in a GPS release from April 2, 2026, personnel will be stationed at strategic sites around the country with additional emphasis placed on the Kwahu area to provide security for all those who will be attending Easter events.
The GPS emphasized in their release to the public that significant security will be in place to ensure that people will be safe and that peace will be maintained during Easter this year.
Officers will be present at all event locations throughout Ghana, including places where large volumes of pedestrian and vehicular traffic occur such as recreation facilities and tourist sites.
Additionally, there will be increased levels of security along major highways leading to and from Kwahu as well as the establishment of additional patrol and operation units to continue ensuring a safe environment for everyone in the area. Police Motor Traffic Officers will be responsible for managing and reducing traffic congestion as well as controlling traffic flow during Easter.
The authorities have continued to encourage motorists to follow the traffic laws, do not drive while intoxicated and speed excessively, and comply with lawful orders from Officers in order to promote public safety on our roadways.
The Service’s intelligence has resulted in conducting proactive operations aimed at preventing and responding to any type of criminal activity in real-time.
In addition to promote public safety, the Service has encouraged members of the public to be vigilant, partner with our security personnel and report suspicious activities to their nearest police station.
Furthermore, it has encouraged all patrons to be aware of their own safety and security of their property, it has encouraged the public at-large to consider the safety of themselves and their property when celebrating the Easter holiday.
Lastly, the authorities wish to extend their wishes to all residents for a safe and happy Easter and will continue to carry out their duties in accordance with the laws of our community during the Easter holiday celebrations.
