All Ghanaians residing in Qatar have been directed by the Ghanaian Embassy in Doha to register with the embassy as a contingency plan in the event of increasing regional tensions.
In a statement released by the Embassy on March 2, 2026, Ghanaians who have not yet registered were urged to do so right away because it would be simpler to contact and receive support if the security situation deteriorates.
The embassy stated that registration would allow the mission to immediately contact citizens, provide consular assistance, and make evacuation arrangements if necessary.
The announcement states that all Ghanaians residing in Qatar, including tourists, students, workers, and families, are required to fill out the registration form.
Although the Embassy did not provide any particular incidents, it stated that the command was caused by “increased tensions and unrest within the region.” According to the notice, the registration is simply for the purpose of meeting consular and emergency preparedness needs.
All information submitted through the online form will be kept private and utilized solely for government purposes, the Embassy said.
The mission went on to say that it will keep sharing updates via its official means of communication as the situation changes.
The Embassy has encouraged Ghanaians who are still residing in Qatar to register as soon as possible so that it can contact them and offer assistance in the event of an emergency
