Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has picked a 28-man team for the World Cup training camp and an international friendly game against Wales in Cardiff. The team includes nine defenders, seven midfielders, seven attackers, and five goalkeepers.
The team set up camp and trained at Dragon Park in Cardiff on Monday, May 25, 2026, before their friendly match against Wales on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Baba Abdul Rahman, a defender playing in Greece for PAOK, is back with the team for the first time since September 2023 because he’s been playing so well. The former Chelsea left back has scored three goals and assisted three others in 35 games this season in all competitions.
Ernest Nuamah, the winger from Olympique Lyon, is also back after being out for almost a year. He’s fully recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that kept him off the field for over a year.
Other players making a comeback are, Alidu Seidu a defender for Stade Rennes and Augustine Boakye a midfielder for Saint-Étienne. Abdul Mumin from Rayo Vallecano is also back after being out for a long time with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Young Paul Reverson from Ajax Amsterdam has also been chosen. The 20-year-old impressed with Ajax’s youth team in the Netherlands and has been called up for a closer look with an eye on the future.
The team will meet in Cardiff on Monday, May 25, 2026, to get ready for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, as well as the upcoming friendly against Wales.
Ghana will play Panama in their first Group L game in Toronto before they face England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia.
