National Labour Commission (NLC) under Public Services Workers Union has ordered striking National Identification Authority (NIA) workers to call off the industrial action ongoing.
This follows a meeting of the Commission on Thursday, May 14, with the union, the National Identification Authority and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission on the delay on the operationalisation of migration reports for service conditions for members of the Union.
This was said in a release issued by the Commission on May 14, 2026.The Commission thus requests that the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission assists in the ratfification and implementation of migration report for NIA workers by the end of May 2026.
The Commission adjourned the hearing for reporting purposes to 4th June 2026.”By 31st May, 2026, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission should assist in the ratfification and implementation of migration report for NIA workers”. “The industrial strike embarked by the workers must be called off immediately”.
