In Accra, the Nima Market was recently destroyed by a fire outbreak, and Baba Jamal, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, has promised to help the victims.
Alhaji Baba Jamal assured reporters that he would provide GH¢5,000 to each of the affected traders to assist them in rebuilding their enterprises following the fire’s devastation.
The Ayawaso East MP also asked the government to assist in building a state-of-the-art market for the constituency’s residents and businesses in order to enhance trading conditions and help avoid future fire outbreaks.
“Because this is a devastating tragedy that has affected our people last night, my MCE and NADMO officers all hurried here and were able to assist. However, it is evident that significant destruction has occurred. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the victims for their loss as well as everyone who is at this market.
“In these hard times, I implore the government, our president, and the entire nation to step up and help. I have received the list from a few of the affected individuals. In the meanwhile, I wish to give each of the victims GH¢5,000 on my own.
