Otto Addo has been fired from his position as head coach of Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, according to the Ghana Football Association.
After Ghana’s defeats in both of their pre-World Cup friendly games against Austria and Germany in March, the former assistant coach of Borussia Dortmund leaves his post.
The Ghana FA announced the decision in a statement, stating: “The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has terminated its relationship with Otto Addo, the head coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), with immediate effect.”
“Otto Addo’s contributions to the team are greatly appreciated by the Association, and we wish him the best in all of his future endeavors.
In due course, the Ghana Football Association will inform the public about the Black Stars’ new technical direction.
As Ghana continues its preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026, Addo’s departure represents yet another major shift in the national team’s technical arrangement.
