Applications for admission into six post-basic specialized nursing programs at health training institutions throughout the nation are open by the Ministry of Health from March 3 to March 26, 2026.
The initiatives are connected to the government’s Ghana Medical Trust Fund, known as MahamaCares, and the Ghana Labour Exchange Program, according to a press release released on Wednesday, March 4. According to the Ministry, the goal of the expansion is to improve healthcare delivery in order to support the two projects.
The areas of specialization include Nephrology Nursing, Cardiology Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Emergency Nursing, Endocrinology Nursing, and Oncology Nursing.
The Peri-Operative and Critical Care School at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, the nursing and midwifery training college campuses in Korle Bu, Kumasi, and Tamale, and the Ear, Nose, and Throat School in Kumasi are the five schools in three cities where the training will take place.
A diploma in Registered Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, or Registered General Nursing is required for applicants. Additionally, they must submit scanned duplicates of their academic and professional credentials, as well as their physical and digital addresses in Ghana Post.
The program will last for four semesters, and students who complete it successfully will receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cape Coast.
