Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) agents has taken into custody a high-ranking official for allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine out of Ghana.
The substance was reportedly hidden in goods of packaged gari (dried cassava flakes), by the suspect whose name has not been disclosed yet.
He was captured at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), following an intelligence-led operation.
According to Graphic Online’s sources at Kotoka International Airport (KIA), the suspect is believed to be in charge of the factory’s manufacturing operations.
Authorities have stated that investigations are still underway to establish all the facts surrounding the attempted shipment and to determain whether other people might be connected to the alleged syndicate.
