After a collision during their Spanish second-division encounter on Monday, FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono is the focus of a police probe after the death of CD Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel.
On Tuesday morning, De Miguel, who was 30 years old, passed away from a cardiac arrest that followed the incident that happened during the last minutes of the match at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodrguez López.
Owono had come out of his goal to challenge for a long ball close to the halfway line when he ran into De Miguel, seeming to hit the forward in the chest with his knee. The game was called off at 2-2, and the goalie was given a straight red card.

De Miguel was treated on the field before being transported to the hospital. His status deteriorated before Tenerife announced his death at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, despite being admitted to intensive care.
A probe has been started into the player’s death by the National Police of Spain. The case is currently being monitored by the judiciary, and officials are working to ascertain precisely what transpired throughout the accident.
However, the investigation does not show that Owono committed a criminal act. The authorities will decide the specifics of the challenge and whether any criminal culpability results.
The 25-year-old Equatorial Guinea international has also encountered unpleasant online responses in response to the occurrence. Amid the abuse, he allegedly deleted his Instagram profile.

Clubs, players, and football officials all across Spain have offered their condolences in response to the disaster. Tenerife and FC Andorra have extended their condolences to De Miguel’s family and the club’s extended community.
Even though his personal mental condition and particular talks with De Miguel’s family have not been independently verified, the incident has also put Owono under severe emotional strain.
While the investigation progresses, the football world has the difficult responsibility of mourning De Miguel while allowing the facts surrounding the occurrence to be established.
