Although there are only 5,000 spots available for final enlistment, the Minister of Interior, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, has announced that over 105,000 candidates have passed the medical phase of the continuing security services recruitment.
Mr. Muntaka stated at a press conference held on Wednesday, March 11, that the pass score for the recruiting exams was established at 65 by the authorities in order to restrict the number of candidates moving on to the medical phase.
He claimed that, in light of the security agencies’ limited capacity, the action was essential in order to maintain the fairness and manageability of the recruiting procedure.
“Are you going to let more than 400,000 individuals go and do medicals when you know you only have room for 5,000? Are you really fair to everyone? You must establish a means to bring the figures down and have a fair number, he stated.
As part of measures to lower the number of candidates moving on to the next round, the 65-pass mark was made known to candidates prior to the start of the tests, according to Mr. Muntaka.
Additionally, he said that despite the fact that a large number of candidates may pass the medical tests, the restricted intake means that just a small percentage would be hired by the various security agencies this year.
“Therefore, as we speak, we are still at 65,000 that have qualified for medicals, when in reality, the total number that we can now accept after medicals is only 5,000,” he said
