On the afternoon of Saturday, October 10, 2026, a man in his twenties passed away after entering the Amur tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, close to Doncaster in Northern England.
Following a tiger attack, police reported that the victim was declared dead at the site.
Emergency services were called on Saturday shortly after 1.30 p.m. when the man went into the Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s enclosure near Doncaster and was attacked by the tiger.
Videos that are available online appear to show a tiger mauling and wrestling a male within its habitat.
According to a police spokesman, the man was attacked by the tiger and sustained “severe injuries.”
Despite the finest efforts of medical personnel, the man was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene, they stated, and emergency services were on the scene.
“There is no greater risk to the public, and the animal remained in the enclosure following the event unharmed, according to rumors about the tiger’s health.”
The organization asked people not to share “distressing” video footage of the incident that was going around on social media.
A “serious incident” reportedly happened inside the enclosure, according to Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Our emergency response procedures were activated immediately, according to a statement, and emergency personnel are on the scene.
“In order to determine what occurred, we are collaborating closely with the authorities.” “The safety and well-being of visitors, staff, and animals continues to be our top priority,” it said further.
The Yorkshire Wildlife Park opened in 2009, and the Land of the Tigers attraction followed in 2011.
The attraction is located in a two-acre reserve created specifically for Amur tigers, an endangered subspecies with only roughly 500 individuals remaining in the wild.
Pictures of the park’s website’s enclosure show a tall walkway for guests and fencing above the area where the tigers can wander.
According to a spokeswoman for the Yorkshire ambulance service, several resources were sent to the site, including two ambulances, the Yorkshire air ambulance, and a doctor.
Man murdered by tiger at UK wildlife park told the animal to “stop being naughty.”
Sky News understands that the person who was attacked by a tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park said to the animal to “stop being naughty” right before the incident.
People nearby the enclosure were desperately urging the adolescent to “play dead,” but he did not understand and was instead begging the tiger to “stop being naughty,” according to witnesses.
The victim was “dancing by himself with headphones on” only minutes before, according to one witness.

Anthony Hunt was on a date with his girlfriend Scarlet at the wildlife park. They had been snapping photos of Altai when they observed its demeanor shift and its head turn.
Anthony stated, “We saw a change in the tiger’s behavior. Its eyes were focused on something in the enclosure. We assumed he was being fed. When Scarlett was snapping pictures, we instantly saw in the camera lens that someone had entered the enclosure.”
He claimed that the victim “started praying and staring up at the sky while bowing down on all fours.”
“The tiger remained on the landing at this time” before “sniffing the man after jumping off the landing.”
The sufferer is described by Anthony as being “not linked to reality” and “nearly in a trance.”
The couple later spoke with a lady who stated she had “tried to stop him” from entering the enclosure and “tried to pull him back” but was unable to do so.
“She was shaken up,” Anthony stated, alleging that the woman was accompanied by her two children.
Alex Underwood, who had been visiting the wildlife park with his girlfriend, was another witness. He stated that the victim had requested that his partner take a picture of him right before he entered the enclosure.
Alex stated, “I saw him dancing with his headphones on when we were on the tiger bridge.”
He asked, “Can you please take a picture of me?” My girlfriend said, “Yes.” After that, he said, “one more, one more.” He didn’t focus on the camera.
“Thank you, he said, gazing at us.”
“We heard someone had jumped in and thought of him for some reason,” Alex said, adding that he had left the bridge with his girlfriend shortly after.
