On Transfer Deadline Day, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has been signed by Manchester City for a British record £125 million.
The 25-year-old Argentina international has been granted permission to travel to Manchester for his medical after agreeing to personal terms on a five-year deal with an option for an additional season.
The agreement reunites Fernandez with former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca at the Etihad Stadium and equals the British transfer record established by Liverpool for Alexander Isak last summer.

As talks went on, Fernandez was reportedly absent from the club’s recent games and had made it clear that he wanted to move to City from Chelsea.
Following Rodri’s departure to Barcelona earlier this summer, Fernandez will add experience and originality in the middle of the pitch, further solidifying City’s midfield.
