Ibrahim Kakari Sulemana, a Black Stars midfielder, has formally joined Sassuolo of the Italian Serie A from Atalanta.
Sassuolo has the option to acquire the Ghana international at the conclusion of the 2026–2027 season as part of the deal’s season-long loan agreement.
Sulemana, who was signed by Atalanta, was loaned to Bologna and Cagliari, where he made 20 total appearances in all competitions and scored one goal.
His performances in 16 games for Cagliari and 4 games for Bologna put him in line to be included in Ghana’s Black Stars 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.
“US Sassuolo Calcio announces that it has acquired the sports services of the footballer Kakari Ibrahim Sulemana (midfielder, 2003) from Atalanta, on loan with an option to join until June 30, 2027.”
“Welcome, Ibrahim, from the entire black-green family!” was one part of the statement released by the team.
Sulemana joined Sassuolo as the most recent Black Stars player, following defensive midfielder Alfred Duncan, who played for the team for a total of five years.
